The Leadersphere is coming to the United States. On December 8, the Dallas Sphere will launch, followed on Atlanta on December 10. Each evening brings together the founding cohort of a new local Sphere: Senior leaders from across every function of the business, meeting one another for the first time.

Two launches, one week

Following the launch of our first Sphere in London later this month, The Leadersphere will turn its attention to the US with two launches in the same week:

  1. Dallas Sphere: Tuesday, December 8
  2. Atlanta Sphere: Thursday, December 10

Both are business centers with a deep concentration of senior leadership, and both are cities where leaders tend to value working relationships that are built face to face. Each Sphere is local by design: Dallas is for leaders based in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, and Atlanta is for leaders based in the Atlanta area.

Venues for both evenings will be confirmed shortly.

Why a local Sphere

The more senior the role, the more the hardest questions are carried alone. Most leaders have plenty of contacts. Far fewer have a small group of peers they would pick up the phone to when a decision is difficult and the usual advice will not do.

A Sphere is built to be that group. It is a closed circle of cross-functional leaders who live and work near one another, so that online conversation can turn into dinners, meet-ups and, over time, trust. Membership is by invitation, and who sits in the room is decided by location and by what matters to each leader right now, not by open sign-up.

The result is a community where a CFO can speak candidly with a chief marketing officer, a CIO with a general counsel, a COO with a CHRO, away from the pitches and the scrutiny of their own function.

Why the founding evenings matter

Every Sphere begins with a founding cohort, and that cohort does more than attend a launch. It sets the standards, the format and the culture that later members will join.

That makes the first evening in each city important in a way later gatherings cannot be:

  1. It is the first time the cohort is in one room. The people who will shape each Sphere meet before the routines have formed.
  2. It sets the tone. How conversations are held, what stays private and how introductions are made are all established at the start.
  3. It anchors the Sphere locally. The Leadersphere is "global connections, local relationships." The launches are where the local part becomes real.

What happens after each launch

The launch is where the Sphere begins, and the founding cohort continues from there. In the months that follow, members:

  1. Keep talking online. Your Sphere lives on the Leadersphere platform, where conversation can continue between gatherings and the Relationship Map shows everyone you've connected with.
  2. Work through challenges together. Members bring real questions to a trusted group and draw on experience from across functions and industries.
  3. Meet in person. Local meet-ups, Chatham House rooms and private dinners keep connections active, and twice a year the Sphere comes together for flagship events.
  4. Grow their careers. Development pathways, including coaching, support members' careers beyond the Sphere itself.

Be part of the community at the beginning

Dallas will gather on December 8 and Atlanta on December 10, with venues and timings to follow. Attendance is by invitation. If you would like to find out more about the founding cohort in Dallas or Atlanta, please enquire via this website.

Start a conversation

If you are considering membership, the next step is a private conversation to understand your priorities and confirm whether The Leadersphere is the right fit. We are also glad to hear from executive assistants enquiring on behalf of a leader, and from partners with something relevant to bring.
